UNC Asheville Faculty Awards Presented

The 2004 UNC Asheville faculty awards were presented at the final faculty meeting and at commencement.

The following awards were presented: 

• Distinguished Teacher of the Year: Edward J. Katz
  
• Ruth and Leon Feldman Professorship for outstanding scholarship and university service: Sandra P. Byrd and Kevin Moorhead
  
• Distinguished Teaching Award for Natural Sciences: Samuel R. Kaplan
  
• Distinguished Teaching Award for Social Sciences: Sandra P. Byrd
  
• Distinguished Teaching Award for Humanities: John M. McClain
  
• Distinguished Teaching Award for Part-Time Faculty: Ellen J. Perry
  
• Distinguished Teaching Award for Untenured Faculty: Dee Eggers
  
• University Service Award: Keith E. Krumpe
  
• University Research Council Award for Professional Scholarship and Creative Activities: Virginia Derryberry and Gordon Wilson.
