UNC Asheville's Black Student Association Presents Awards

The UNC Asheville Black Student Association recently presented academic and leadership awards at its annual banquet.

The following awards were presented:

William E. Highsmith Award was presented to the female and male with the highest cumulative grade point average.

  • Timothy Brandon Means

Benjamin E. Mays Academic Achievement Certificates were presented to students with grade point averages of 3.5 or higher.

  • Brooke Helen Thompson

Mary McLeod Bethune Academic Achievement Certificates were presented to students with grade point averages between 3.0 and 3.49.

Martin Luther King Jr. Award was presented to the student who exhibited the most outstanding leadership in building a more cohesive relationship between students and the university.
