UNCA's Blowers Gallery Hosts Black-and-White Photography Exhibition

"The Eyelash Project," an exhibition of some 40 black-and-white photographs by Leigh R. Svenson, will be on view Oct. 1-31 at UNC Asheville's Blowers Gallery. An opening reception will be held from 5-7 p.m. Friday, Oct. 17, in the gallery.

Svenson, manager of UNCA's media center and Lipinsky Auditorium, bought his first camera at the age of twelve and has been taking photographs since. He holds a bachelor's degree in art history from New York University. Svenson was the recipient of a grant from the National Endowment for the Arts for his video production "Wahconah Revisited" in 1988 and has credits on dozens of educational and instructional video productions.

Blowers Gallery, located on the main floor of UNCA's Ramsey Library, is open during regular library hours. Admission is free. For hours of operation, call UNCA's Ramsey Library at 828/251-6546.
