UNCA to Host Spring Dance Spree;
Master Class with the Ailey II Company Featured
UNC Asheville’s Dance Program will host the "Spring Dance Spree
(One Fee for Three)" dance workshop from 9 a.m.-1:15 p.m. Wednesday,
April 16. All classes will be held in UNCA’s Dance Studio, located in
the Health & Fitness Center. The event is open to the public.
Registration will be held from 8-9 a.m. Session one, held from 9-10
a.m., features a choice of a Pilates mat class taught by Heather Rich or a
NIA class taught by Annie Lowery. Session two, held from 10-11:30 a.m.,
offers a ballet class taught by Allison Hertzberg or a jazz dance class
taught by Beth Chepke. The final session, held from 11:45 a.m.-1:15 p.m.,
features a master class taught by members of the Ailey II Company.
Following the master class, UNCA Dance Program students will present
choreographic process and research. The students are participants of UNCA’s
nationally recognized Undergraduate Research Program.
The workshop fee is $10 for all three classes. It is not possible to
register for only one class. Limited space is available; pre-registration
is recommended.
"Spring Dance Spree (One Fee for Three)" is presented in
cooperation with UNCA’s Cultural and Special Events and the Diana
Wortham Theatre Community Outreach program.
