UNCA Faculty Promoted, New Chairs Named

Several UNC Asheville faculty members recently received promotions. Promoted from associate to full professor were Richard Chess, literature and language; Linda Nelms, management and accountancy; and Mark West, mass communication. Promoted from assistant professor to associate professor were Melissa Burchard, philosophy; Thomas Cochran, psychology; Mark McClure, mathematics; Dolly Jenkins Mullen, political science; Afaf Omer, sociology; Bryan Sinclair, library; Alice Weldon, foreign languages; Megan Wolfe, art; and Helen Wykle, library.

New department chairs and program directors named were Gwen Ashburn, literature and language; Tracy Brown, psychology; Keith Krumpe, chemistry; Jeanne McGlinn, humanities; and Betsy Wilson, biology.
