UNCA Spring Open House Set for April 12UNC Asheville's Admissions Office will host an open house for transfer students and high school students and their families from 9 a.m. to noon Saturday, April 12, in UNCA's Health & Fitness Center. Events will include student-led campus tours and sessions on admission, academic and extracurricular programs, scholarships and other financial aid. The University of North Carolina Asheville, a four-year public liberal arts university located in the mountains of western North Carolina, has earned a national reputation for its programs in the humanities, undergraduate research and environmental studies. UNCA ranks fifth in the nation among public liberal arts colleges in the latest U.S. News & World Report's "America's Best Colleges." UNCA’s Undergraduate Research Program is ranked ninth in a new U.S. News category, "Programs that Really Work," with the nation's leading research universities such as MIT, Stanford and Cal Tech. UNCA ranks eighth on the Princeton Review's "The Best 345 Colleges" new list of schools that offer the "Best Academic Bang for Your Buck" and is listed among a handful of "best buys" among American colleges in the Fiske Guide to Colleges.
