Laura Fuentes and Calicanto to Perform at UNCA March 29

Latin American roots musicians Laura Fuentes and Calicanto will perform at 4 p.m. Saturday, March 29, at UNC Asheville's Lipinsky Auditorium. The concert is free and open to the public.

Blending an array of music from across Latin America, Fuentes and her band educate as well as entertain. At every concert, the band encourages the audience to join in by clapping their hands, playing traditional instruments and singing along. And before each song, Fuentes explains the meanings of their selections. Songs from Argentina, Chile, Mexico, Peru, Puerto Rico and Venezuela are featured.
