Theatre UNCA Presents "The Village Fable" February 21-23Theatre UNC Asheville presents a production of James Still's "The Village Fable" February 21-23 in UNCA's Carol Belk Theatre. Directed by associate professor of drama Patricia Snoyer, the show features 13 UNCA actors. "The Village Fable," Still's musical drama, is a fable about three souls who are shunned for being different: Chudu the Goat-Man, Armida the blacksmith's daughter and Prince Christopher, the violin-playing heir to the throne. These three stories weave in and out of each other as each character is pushed to the brink by pressures to conform to social, political and gender roles. Shows begin at 7:30 p.m. Friday and Saturday with 2 p.m. matinees on Saturday and Sunday and a 5:30 p.m. show Sunday evening. Tickets are $9 general admission, $7 senior citizens and $5 students. Because of the intimate size of UNCA's Carol Belk Theatre and often heavy demand for tickets, advance purchase is strongly advised. Tickets may be purchased by phone with Visa or MasterCard by calling 828/232-2291 between 10 a.m.-4 p.m. weekdays. Tickets are also available at the box office 90 minutes before curtain and online. For more information, call UNCA’s Drama Department at 828/251-6610. Media Contacts:
