"Natures’ Patchwork," an exhibition of 12 large fiber-art quilts by Kimberly Childs, will be on view through September 30 at UNC Asheville’s Blowers Gallery. The exhibition is free and open to the public.

Childs has been quilting for nearly 20 years and has studied fiber art at the School for Textile Arts, Evanston Art Center and Columbia College. A former psychotherapist, Childs now works full-time as an artist. Her quilts are inspired by natural landscapes and are created using a variety of techniques, including machine quilting, hand dying and needlework. These non-traditional quilts also incorporate three-dimensional objects such as netting, pearls, ribbons, ruffles and sequins.

Blowers Gallery, located on the main floor of UNCA's Ramsey Library, is open during regular library hours. For hours of operation, call UNCA's Ramsey Library at 828/251-6546.
