College for Seniors Offers Spring Term

Expand your mind this spring by choosing among 45 courses in UNC Asheville’s nationally renowned College for Seniors, a program of N.C. Center for Creative Retirement. With no tests, grades or prerequisites besides your curiosity and age (50 and over), you can hone your creative writing skills, explore baseball in American culture, dive into digital photography or sort through Ellis Island in fact and fiction.

If science is your thing, take a course in molecular medicine, science and technology, horticulture or molecular genealogy to use DNA to establish kinship and your family tree. Wagner’s operas, the history of the Middle East and Shakespeare can be mixed with bird watching, beginning piano and yoga. There’s something for everyone and great companionship, too.

The spring term runs from March 24-May 23 and costs $112 for as many classes as you can schedule plus a parking permit, UNCA library card and more. Priority enrollment is given students who register by February 26.

For more information or to enroll, call the College for Seniors Office at 828/251-6384.
