UNCA Offers Kids' Summer Bug Camp

Rising 5th-7th grade students will have a chance to lay their hands on some creepy, crawly creatures at UNC Asheville’s Summer Bug Camp. The one-week program, designed for students interested in biology, will foster creative and analytical thinking through interactive, discovery-based learning. Activities will include field trips and identifying, curating and experimenting with insects.

The program will meet from 9 a.m.-4 p.m. June 23-27 in Rhoades/Robinson Hall on the UNCA campus. Registration is $175 per student before May 15 and $185 after. The fee includes all course materials and recreation activities. Students are required to bring their own lunch and snacks.

For more information and to register, call Tim Forrest at 828/232-5150 or Herb Pomfrey at 828/232-5154 in UNCA’s biology department.
