UNCA to Host Lecture on "Alexander the Great, Mastermind of Money"

Robert Bauslaugh, professor of ancient history and classics at Brevard College, will present a lecture on "Alexander the Great, Mastermind of Money" at 7:30 p.m. Friday, March 28, in the Whitman Room of UNC Asheville's Ramsey Library. A period of discussion will follow the lecture, which is free and open to the public.

Alexander the Great influenced the history of coinage worldwide by creating a uniform monetary system in his empire. The lecture will also include images of coins and related iconography that shaped in the history of money.

The talk is sponsored by the American Institute of Archeology, UNCA's Classics Department and UNCA's Classics Society.
