UNCA Women's Intramural Volleyball Team Wins National Championship

A UNC Asheville women’s intramural volleyball team recently won the Target Intramural Volleyball National Championship in Orlando, Fla., defeating the University of Nebraska two games to one. Three UNCA teams qualified for tournament play and earned free trips to the championship by reaching the regional finals held at UNCA April 6-7.

Other regional tournaments were held at Saint Louis University, University of Nebraska and University of Minnesota-Morris. All competitors were intramural teams, required to have a limited number of club players and no team members who played varsity in the last two years or who had ever played professionally.
