UNCA Offers Required Teachers' Course in Hendersonville

Registration is now open for Effective Teacher Training, a required course for teaching and substituting in some North Carolina public school systems, including Buncombe County. The class is offered through UNC Asheville’s Continuing and Professional Education Department and will meet at UNCA’s Kellogg Center, 11 Broyles Rd., Hendersonville.

Effective Teacher Training will cover school improvement plans, N.C. public school policy, behavior management, N.C. Standard Course of Study alignment, assessment and legal issues. The course may qualify for renewal certification credit for teachers who receive prior approval by their school districts.

The class will meet from 9 a.m.-3:30 p.m. March 9 and 16 at UNCA’s Kellogg Center. Cost is $50. All course materials are provided and participants will receive a certificate of completion. Class size is limited.
