UNCA to Host Talk on Globalization and Human Rights

International human rights expert Sigrun Skogly will discuss "Globalization and Its Discontents: Human Rights and the Challenges of an Integrated World" at 7 p.m. Monday, Oct. 28, in UNC Asheville’s Laurel Forum, located on the main floor of Karpen Hall. The talk is free and open to the public.

Skogly is director of the International Human Rights and Humanitarian Law Program at the University of Lancaster, United Kingdom. She holds a Masters of Law degree from Essex University and a Ph.D. from the University of Oslo. Skogly is the author of "The Human Rights Obligations of the World Bank and the International Monetary Fund."

The talk is co-sponsored by UNCA’s International Studies Program, the Political Science Department and the Belk Professorship.
