Theatre UNCA Presents "The Rimers of Eldritch" October 2-6
Theatre UNCA kicks off its 2002-2003 season with a production of Lanford Wilson’s "The Rimers of Eldritch" October 2-6 in UNCA’s Carol Belk Theatre. "The Rimers of Eldritch" explores false morality in a small town that leads to murder and innocence lost. Shifting from one locale to another, backward and forward through time, the play presents a murder trial as characters try to piece together the puzzle of what really happened. Directed by Patricia Snoyer, UNCA associate professor of drama, "The Rimers of Eldritch" showcases 17 UNCA student actors. The show also features light, set and sound design by UNCA Drama Department Chair Rob Bowen and costume design by Kendra Johnson, UNCA assistant professor of drama. Curtain is at 8 p.m. Wednesday through Saturday with shows at 2 p.m. and 5:30 p.m. Sunday. Tickets are $9 general admission, $7 senior citizens and $5 students. Because of the intimate size of UNCA’s Carol Belk Theatre and often heavy demand for tickets, advance purchase is strongly advised. Tickets may be charged by phone after September 26 by calling 828/232-2291 between 10 a.m.-4 p.m. weekdays. Tickets are also available at the box office 90 minutes before curtain and online. In addition, season passes are now on sale. For more information, call UNCA’s Drama Department, 828/251-6610.
