African Human Rights Expert Makau Mutua to Speak at UNCALeading African human rights expert will give a talk on "Human Rights: A Cultural Project" at 7 p.m. Thursday, March 21, at UNCA’s Owen Conference Center. The event is free and open to the public. Mutua is professor of law and director of the Human Rights Center at the State University of New York at Buffalo School of Law where he teaches international human rights, business transactions and law. He has been a visiting professor at Harvard Law School, the University of Iowa College of Law and the University of Puerto Rico School of Law. An international speaker, Mutua has also written numerous scholarly articles exploring topical subjects in international law, human rights and religion. The talk is sponsored by UNCA’s Belk Human Rights Lecture Series, the WNC Chapter of the United Nations Association-USA and the WNC Chapter of the World Affairs Council.
