Leadership Haywood 15 to Begin in January;
Application Deadline November 18
Applications are now being accepted for Leadership Haywood 15, a
community leadership development program specifically designed for people
who care about the future of Haywood County. Leadership Haywood is one of
the Leadership Programs of the University of North Carolina Asheville.
Now in its 15 year, Leadership Haywood addresses issues affecting the
future of Haywood County, prepares, and motives participants to become
actively involved in community decision-making processes. The program
includes an all-day opening retreat on January 28, 2003, followed by seven
half-day sessions on topics covering governance, health and environment,
the arts and non-profit organizations, economic development, history, and
education. There are also sessions on leadership skill development.
The cost of Leadership Haywood 15 is $350. Tuition is payable by an
employer, a sponsoring organization, or by the participant and covers all
materials, notebooks, and refreshments. There are a limited number of
partial scholarships available.
