Greek Art Exhibition Now Open in UNCA's Blowers Gallery

"Student Views of Greece," an exhibition of 21 photographs, 18 sketches and eight ceramic sculptures by UNC Asheville students, is on view through March 1 at UNCA’s Blowers Gallery. Students exhibiting work in the show are Laura Aultman, Matt Deal, Dorothy Hartsock, Lindsey Peterson, Jeremy Russell and Melissa Smith.

The art was created as part of UNCA’s Field Experience Course in Archaeology last summer. Students, faculty and staff traveled to Athens, Mycenae, Delphi, Mykonos and Crete for one month of study and cultural experience. Highlights from the trip included archaeological field work at a Neolithic site on the island of Mykonos, lectures at major museums and site tours on Crete and mainland Greece.

The gallery, located on the main floor of UNCA’s Ramsey Library, is open during regular library hours. For hours of operation, call UNCA’s Ramsey Library at 828/251-6546.
