UNCA Offers a Variety of Continuing Education Classes Throughout the Spring

Highlighting the spring lineup of UNC Asheville's continuing education courses are a number of language classes, including Spanish in the Workplace and Spanish for the Health Care Professional. New this spring are courses in American Sign Language: Beginning I and II as well as Infant/Toddler Sign Language, a form of early communication with hearing or deaf children. A range of conversational classes in French, Italian, Portuguese and Spanish will also be offered.

Courses in personal and professional development and the creative arts round out the 40 available classes. Those who wish to enhance their personal or professional development may opt for "Career Transitions: Do What You Are," "Financial Strategies for Successful Retirement" or "The Power of Intention." Offerings in the creative arts include classes such as calligraphy, drawing, film appreciation, guitar, herbalism, photography, quilting and painting.

Courses are open to the community and begin through May, varying from weekly classes to day-long workshops. Fees range from $30 to $145. For an application or more information, call UNCA's Office of Special Academic Programs at 828/251-6558.
