Gender and the Garden of Eden Tale to be Discussed at UNCA

UNC Asheville's Center for Jewish Studies will present a talk on "All About Eve: Gender and the Garden of Eden Tale" by Carol Meyers at 7:30 p.m. Wednesday, Oct. 23, in UNCA's Owen Conference Center. This event is free and open to the public.

Meyers, professor of religion and associate director of women's studies at Duke University, specializes in biblical studies and archaeology. A prominent scholar in the study of women in the biblical world, Meyers has authored or co-authored eight books and has edited or co-edited five others. Her book "Discovering Eve" is a landmark study of women
in ancient Israel. Her recent reference book, "Women in Scripture," is the most comprehensive study ever made of women in Jewish and Christian scriptures.
