UNCA Offers Kids' Summer Bug Camp

Students in grades 4-8 will have a chance to lay their hands on some creepy, crawly creatures at UNCA’s Summer Bug Camp. The one-week program, designed for students interested in biology, will foster creative and analytical thinking through interactive, discovery-based learning. Activities will include field trips and identifying, curating and experimenting with insects.

Two sessions are available: June 17-21 for rising 6-8 graders and June 24-28 for rising 4-6 graders. Classes will meet from 9 a.m.-4 p.m. in Rhoades/Robinson Hall on the UNCA campus.

Registration is $175 per student before May 15 and $185 after. The fee includes all course materials and recreation activities. Students are required to bring a sack lunch.

For more information and to register, call Tim Forrest at 828/232-5150 or Herb Pomfrey at 828/232-5154 in UNCA’s biology department.
