| For Immediate Release August 17, 2001 UNCA to Hold Public Meetings for Vice Chancellor of Academic Affairs Search UNC Asheville is undertaking a national search to fill the position of vice chancellor for academic affairs. As part of this process, the Vice Chancellor for Academic Affairs Search Committee will hold a series of campus meetings to secure opinion on the requisite qualifications and leadership characteristics for the university’s chief academic officer. The public is invited to join UNCA students, faculty, staff and alumni at these meetings. The meetings are as follows: -- 7 p.m. Monday, Aug. 20, Red Oak Room, Ramsey Library -- 9:30 a.m. Tuesday, Aug. 21, Highsmith Center Side Door, ground floor -- 8 p.m. Wednesday, Aug. 22, room 18, Highsmith Center Tom Cochran will continue to serve this year as UNCA’s interim vice chancellor for academic affairs. The committee expects to complete the search by the end of the 2001-2002 academic year.
