The whimsical Hobey Ford Puppet Theatre will kick off UNC Asheville’s Concerts on the Quad entertainment series in two shows at 6:30 p.m. and 8 p.m. Monday, June 4, in Lipinsky Auditorium. Both performances are free and open to the public but seating is limited. Patrons are urged to arrive early for the best seats.

Ford, winner of puppetry’s highest honor, the UNIMA Citation of Excellence, and recipient of three Jim Henson Foundation grants, is known for excellence in puppetry performance and craft. Adapting folk tales from various cultures, Ford uses his own voice to bring life to these enchanting stories while incorporating a variety of puppetry styles.

Now in its 19th season, UNCA’s Concerts on the Quad includes fun for the entire family on Mondays evenings June 4-July 9. Events will be held on the UNCA quadrangle or in Lipinsky Auditorium.
