UNCA Offers Online Physics Class

Registration is now open for UNCA’s online physics class, Light & Visual Phenomena. The course is open to all interested students who have access to a Pentium computer with Microsoft’s Internet Explorer 4.0 or higher.

The course will provide students with a foundation in the science of light and will show deep connections among physics, biology, the psychology of perception, photography and art. Course work can be applied to photography, vision, color and art. Through the online medium, UNCA Physics Professor Michael Ruiz will lead students in exploring coloring mixing, mirages, rainbows, mirrors and magic, visual acuity, camera lenses, eyeglasses, color blindness and optical illusions. Students who successfully complete the course will earn three credit hours from UNCA.
