Moersch to Hold Master Class Marimba virtuoso William Moersch will hold a marimba clinic master class at 11:30 a.m.-1 p.m. Thursday, March 22, in UNCA’s Lipinsky Hall room 018. The class is free and open to the public. Professor and chair of the percussion division at the University of Illinois, Moersch has performed throughout North and South America, Europe, the Far East and Australia. One of the 12 international marimbaists featured at the World Marimba Festival in Osaka, Japan in 1998, he is perhaps best known for his solo CD "The Modern Marimba" and for commissioning virtually the entire prominent modern American repertoire for solo marimba over the past 20 years.
