and Kathy Sheldon May 20

UNCA’s Writers at Home reading series continues at 3 p.m. Sunday, May 20, at Malaprop’s Bookstore/Cafe, 55 Haywood St., downtown Asheville with readings by local authors Sebastian Matthews and Kathy Sheldon. His first two books, "The Green Man Walks Across America" and "The Poetry Blues: The Essays and Interviews of William Matthews," are due out later this year. Matthews’ poetry and prose have appeared in numerous journals, including "The Atlantic Monthly," "Brilliant Corners" and "New England Review."

A graduate of the Iowa Writers Workshop, Sheldon writes poetry, fiction and nonfiction. She has taught writing at the University of Iowa, Warren Wilson College and the Asheville Poetry Festival. Sheldon’s poems have appeared in literary journals such as "Plainsong" and "The Florida Review."
