Young Women Invited to Celebrate National Girls and Women in Sports Day February 10 at UNCA

UNC Asheville has joined forces with Asheville Parks and Recreation, the Girl Scouts and Climbmax to offer an afternoon celebrating sports for young women age 6 to 16. The National Girls and Women in Sports Day event will be held from 2 to 7 p.m. in Health and Fitness Center on the UNCA campus.

Participants will start the afternoon with games and face painting, and then go on to see UNCA's women's basketball team play Elon College. After the game, UNCA's players will join the young women for a pizza and autograph session.

Admission is free and there is no pre-registration, but all groups must be accompanied by an adult or leader. For more information, call Allison Dains, 252-4442, or Amy Pruett, 254-6542.
