Work by Cherokee Artists on View Through November
in UNCA's Blowers Gallery

As part of UNC Asheville’s celebration of Native American Heritage Month, an exhibition entitled "Not What You Imagine," featuring the work of three Cherokee artists, will be on view November 2-27, at UNCA’s Blowers Gallery. A gallery talk and reception will be held at 6 p.m. Thursday, Nov. 15, in conjunction with the show. The exhibition and talk are free and open to the public.

Designed to challenge the viewers’ stereotypes of Native American art, the exhibition features the work of Cherokee sculptor Davy Arch and Cherokee painters Luzene Hill and Jenean Hornbuckle.

The gallery, located on the main floor of UNCA’s Ramsey Library, is open during regular library hours. For hours of operation, call 828/251-6546.

For more information, call Helen Wyke at 828/251-6621 or Nancy Hayes at 828/251-6436.
