Honored with The University of North Carolina at Asheville presented academic and leadership awards to UNCA students, faculty and staff members at a ceremony May 2 at the Grove Park Inn. The annual presentation was sponsored by the Office of Student Development and the Student Government Association. The following awards were presented: Julienne M. Winner Achievement Award for leadership and scholarship to Donna Sorrells Deweese. Campuswide Leadership Awards: President’s Awards to Angela Berrong and Steven Green; Outstanding Organization of the Year Awards to Bulldog Stompers Clogging Club; Emerging Leader of the Year Awards to Jennifer Bowen, Jonathan Miller, Anne Moukperian and Kevin Skolnik; Outstanding Leader of the Year Awards to Kevin Brinson and Shelly Moss; Outstanding Dedication to Community Service Award to Simona Smalls; Carolyn Briggs Award for Contributions to Expanding an Awareness and Appreciation of Diversity to Joshua Kumm; and Faculty Advisor of the Year Award to Jacqueline Mattingly.
