| For Immediate Release November 28, 2001 UNCA's Andrade Publishes 15th Book for Spanish Learners UNC Asheville Spanish Professor Marcel Andrade recently published his 15th book, "Classic Spanish Stories and Plays." The book, part of McGraw-Hill's Spanish Readers Series, presents great works of Spanish Literature for intermediate Spanish learners. "Classic Spanish Stories and Plays" spans 500 years of literature, and includes "El Cid" (1140) and "Don Quijote" (1605). Andrade, who has taught at UNCA since 1972, has spent much of his academic career writing editions of Spanish literature that maintain the spirit and style of the original but are presented in a manner that allows students to enjoy the works early in their Spanish studies. His books are used at the university level and some high schools in the U.S., Great Britain, Australia, New Zealand Canada and throughout the Spanish-speaking world. In 1995, Andrade was knighted by Spain for his books of Spanish literary classics. The knighthood, in the scientific-academic Order of Alfonso the 10th, was conferred upon Andrade by the Spanish ambassador to Ecuador, acting for the King of Spain, Juan Carlos. Media Contacts:
