| For Immediate Release February 23, 2000 Asheville YWCA Artifacts on
Display in UNCA's Ramsey Library Asheville YWCA photographs, newspaper clippings and documents from 1907 to the present are on display in UNCA's Ramsey Library through March 31. The exhibition is located on the library's third floor, near Special Collections and can be viewed during regular library hours. The exhibition is part of a larger collection of materials, including scrapbooks, newspaper clippings, photographs, meeting minutes and letters, that were recently donated by the YWCA to UNCA's Special Collections for archiving. The material provides an especially detailed account of local racial issues that arose during the YWCA's integration in 1970.
