Cuban Writer Mirta Yáñez to Visit UNCA March 29

Cuban author and educator Mirta Yáñez will give a reading of recent work at 7 p.m. Wednesday, March 29, in UNCA's Laurel Forum, Karpen Hall. The talk will be given in Spanish with English interpretation. The event is free and open to public.

Yáñez is a widely published writer, known internationally for her short stories, children's stories, anthologies, essays and poetry. She has gained critical recognition since the early 1970s for her contributions to Cuban and Latin American literature as well as to women's studies.
