| For Immediate Release March 14, 2000 UNCA Hosts Travel and Wilderness Medicine Symposium March 18 UNCA's Student Hippocrates Organization will host a Travel and Wilderness Medicine Symposium 8 a.m.-4 p.m. Saturday, March 18, in UNCA's Owen Conference Center. The symposium is open to the public. The symposium will include lecture sessions and hands-on workshops. Topics covered will include hypothermic and hyperthermic emergencies, whitewater injuries, useful and harmful flora and tick borne illnesses. The $8 registration fee covers all presentations and workshops. Advanced registration is not required. Registration begins at 7:15 a.m. in the lobby of Owen Conference Center.
