Would you like to know more about severe weather? Join members of UNCA's Atmospheric Sciences Department as it hosts professional meteorologists for a one-day workshop 8:30 a.m.-5 p.m. Saturday, March 18, in UNCA's Ramsey Library Whitman Room and Red Oak Conference Room. The conference is open to the public.

Speakers from the National Climatic Data Center, National Weather Service at Greer and the Air Force Combat Climatology Center will discuss weather basics, hurricanes, satellite imagery, local flooding, thunderstorms, Asheville tornadoes, mesoscale analysis and radar imagery. Hands-on analysis and lab exercises will also be included.

The $50 registration fee covers all presentations and workshops as well materials and lunch. One continuing education credit will be offered for an additional $10. Registration deadline is March 15.
