Ugandan Philosopher Kibujjo Kalumba to Discuss Nelson Mandela at
UNCA February 24

Ugandan philosopher Kibujjo Kalumba will discuss "The Political Philosophy of Nelson Mandela" at 3:15 p.m. Thursday, Feb. 24, at UNCA’s Humanities Lecture Hall. The talk, which is part of UNCA’s month-long Black History Month celebrations, is free and open to the public.

Kalumba is co-author of the highly esteemed "African Philosophy: A Classical Approach." Widely consider an authority of African philosophy, Kalumba specializes in the social and political aspects. His current research focuses on the notion of democracy and the best way to apply its defining characteristics to the African context. Originally from Uganda, Africa, Kalumba now resides in Indiana and is an associate professor of philosophy at Ball State University.
