Classical guitarist Joseph Pecoraro will present a solo recital of Italian compositions at 4 p.m. Sunday, April 2, in UNCA's Humanities Lecture Hall. The concert is part of UNCA Music Department's Spring Concert Series. The concert is open to the public. A $5 donation will be suggested at the door.

The concert will mark Pecoraro's first Asheville appearance. Pecoraro, a member of the Artist Faculty at the N.C. School of the Arts, has been heralded as one of the most exciting and expressive guitarists of his generation. His performances have received widespread recognition, including awards by the Semans and Anderson Foundations and the Guitar Foundation of America's International Competition.

The recital will feature the works of well-known Italian composers, including Carlo Domeniconi, Mauro Giuliani, Regondi, Scarlatti and Francesco da Milano.
