UNCA's Continuing Education Progam Offers Up A Variety of Classes Beginning in September

Award winning photographer and experienced teacher Tim Barnwell will offer a course on beginner photography as part of UNCA’s continuing education non-credit short courses for the 2000 fall season. In Barnwell’s class, participants will focus on improving their technical and compositional skills. Some 30 other courses will provide the opportunity to explore creative writing, social dancing, outdoor wilderness skills and graphic design, among others.

Languages are a special focus this year with courses offered in French, German, Italian, Russian, Japanese and Spanish, including Spanish for health care professionals.

New this session is a collection of Saturday Specials, one-day courses focusing on personal development, with topics ranging from creating decorative collages to building better relationships.

Classes are taught by outstanding community professionals and UNCA faculty members. The program, open to high school students and adults, allows participants to explore their interests through hands-on learning on the UNCA campus.

Continuing education classes meet throughout the fall beginning in September. Courses are filled on a first-come, first-serve basis. Fees vary. For an application or more information, call UNCA’s Special Academic Programs Office, 828/251-6558 or visit their web site.
