Collaborate on Distance Learning Humanities Course
Community college graduates and
other qualified students can now pursue additional humanities course work
thanks to a recent collaboration between UNCA and Blue Ridge Community
College in Flat Rock. A 300-level distance learning course will be taught
at Blue Ridge Community College and credits will be earned at UNCA.
The arrangement allows students who are interested in pursuing a four-year
degree to begin course work close to home. "We are so pleased about
this partnership with Blue Ridge Community College and hope our
collaborations continue," said Elaine Fox, UNCA Special Academic
Programs director.
"Humanities 324: The Modern World: Mid-17th to Mid-20th Century"
will be taught by Grace Campbell, UNCA Humanities Program lecturer, from
6-9:30 p.m. on Tuesday evenings beginning August 22. The class will
explore ideas and values from the scientific revolution of the 17th
century to the Second World War. The impact of the scientific, political,
economic and social revolutions on philosophy, religion, literature and
the arts will be emphasized. Prerequisites are UNCA HUM 124, HUM 214, LANG
101 and LANG 102 or BRCC HIS 111 and HIS 112.
