Budget Update

To the Campus Community,

Late this afternoon, we received further budget guidance for the remainder of the 2008-09 fiscal year from the North Carolina Office of State Budget and Management (OSBM). Although the State continues to authorize allotments for payroll and other compulsory categories, State budgets have been put under even more stringent restrictions as of today. These measures have been taken to ensure that the State has a balanced budget on June 30, 2009.

So that each of us might have the most up-to-date information on this important topic, we are scheduling an All Campus Meeting for next week. We will notify you as soon as we know the time and location of the All Campus Meeting.

In addition, questions related to specific purchases can be directed to Brenda McKinney in the Finance Office at ext. 4999, and questions related to employment vacancies or salaries can be directed to Lisa Honeycutt in the Human Resources Office at ext. 5114.
