26. Reuter Center

Reuter Center

The Reuter Center, which opened in June 2003, is the new home of the N.C. Center for Creative Retirement, established at UNC Asheville in 1988. The center provides programs and activities such as the College for Seniors, intergenerational classes, community service and leadership programs, and outreach activities such as the Creative Retirement Exploration Weekend each May. The building is named for local philanthropist Irving J. Reuter, whose foundation provided initial grants for the building.
