Summer School Information for 2010
I. Schedules for Summer 2010 will be due on Feb 5, 2010 to pmcclell@unca.edu
· Please review the class period definitions (see below and on back)
· Course offering should be spread out over the day and between the two terms, i.e. we cannot offer 90% of the classes at 10:15 am in Term I.
· In cases where there are multiple sections of a course, please make certain that past demand justifies multiple sections and offer sections at different times/terms.
· Department chairs who would like to discuss alternative schedules, for instance a six week meeting schedule, should contact Pat to discuss it.
· The Deans will be reviewing schedules and may confer with Chairs/Directors if there are concerns regarding the proposed offerings.
II. Enrollment and Salary Information
Full Professor $1075 per credit hour
Associate Professor $1025 per credit hour
Assistant Professor $ 950 per credit hour
Lecturer $ 850 per credit hour
Additionally, Internships (with less than 10 students), Undergraduate Research Advising, and Independent Study (needed for summer/fall graduation) will be paid according to the following schedule and must be approved by your Dean and Pat McClellan.
0.1 x (usual course salary) x (# of students enrolled) to a maximum of the usual course salary

Term I, II, or III Class meeting Start and End times are listed by Term, Semester Hours, and Number of Meeting Per Week. Please scroll down if necessary to find the appropriate row for your course. The Summer Class Period Schedule has classes beginning at: 8:00 am, 10:15 am, 1:00 pm, 3:45 pm, and 6:30 pm.
· Meeting time needed per course was determined by multiplying (750 min) x (Sem Hr) and dividing by the number of class days. · Classes may delay their start time, but must end by the start time of the next class period. This will help avoid overlapping classes on the schedule. · Laboratory meeting times are determined by the department: however, please try to minimize the number of class period crossovers. · Students will be limited to a maximum of 10 Sem Hr overall, with a limit of 7 Sem Hr within any 4 week term.
